Your actual data never leaves your environment. AI Query Builder works on a privacy-first basis, so the only thing sent to the AI model is metadata from the XDC cache that describes the shape of your dataset, such as table structure, column names, and data types. The AI uses this to understand your question and build the right query. The values in your data are never sent up.
No. Your credit allowance refreshes at the start of each month, so unused credits do not carry over. This keeps billing simple and predictable, and means you always start the month with your full allowance.
Downgrades take effect at renewal rather than mid-term. If your usage has settled at a lower level, you can move to a smaller tier when your annual subscription renews. You can upgrade at any time.
You get your new, higher credit allowance straight away, not at the start of the next month. The subscription cost is adjusted on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of your term, so you only pay the difference for the time left.
Nothing breaks. We apply a soft limit rather than a hard stop, so any published project keeps working as normal. Your account manager will then get in touch to talk through your options and find the right allowance for how your team is using it.
In most cases, one question uses one credit. Credit use is based on the size of your question and the response needed to answer it, so a complex query or a large amount of context may use more than one. As a rough guide with the current models, one credit covers around 9,000 characters with Gemini or around 3,000 characters with Claude. These figures may change as the underlying models are updated.
No. You can choose whether Gemini or Claude powers AI Query Builder, but it is not possible to bring your own API key. Access to the model is handled for you as part of the bolt-on, which keeps setup simple and usage covered by your credit allowance.
