InfoBurst + Squirrel365

Build enterprise data apps with InfoBurst and Squirrel365 — connecting directly to your databases, caches, and organisational data with full read and write support.

InfoBurst is an enterprise data connectivity platform that provides Squirrel365 with direct connectivity to databases, in-memory data caches, and organisational reporting environments. The integration is available to Builder plan subscribers and works through four native connectors: XDC Cache, XDC Cache Query, Database Query, and Database Writeback. Together, these give Squirrel365 apps access to real-time or pre-cached enterprise data — and crucially, the ability to write user inputs back to the source database, making full bidirectional data flow possible.

What you can do

  • Connect directly to any ODBC database via InfoBurst and query it in real time with the Database Query connector
  • Load high-performance, pre-cached datasets from InfoBurst's in-memory XDC cache into your Squirrel365 spreadsheet
  • Run SQL queries against the XDC cache using the XDC Cache Query connector to retrieve only the data your app needs
  • Write user inputs from a Squirrel365 app back to an enterprise database using the Database Writeback connector
  • Trigger data refreshes on load, on a schedule, or in response to user interactions within the app
  • Host and distribute Squirrel365 apps through the InfoBurst portal, with automated data refresh and offline distribution support

How it works

  1. Set up your InfoBurst environment with the databases, caches, or queries you want to expose to Squirrel365
  2. Open your Squirrel365 project and add an InfoBurst connector from the Connections panel (XDC Cache, XDC Cache Query, Database Query, or Database Writeback)
  3. Enter your InfoBurst URL, username, and password in the connector credentials section
  4. Select the database query or cache to use and bind the data destination to a range in the Squirrel365 spreadsheet
  5. Configure refresh triggers — on load, on interval, or on cell change — to control when data is fetched
  6. For writeback, configure the writeback statement and an optional fallback to handle failed writes gracefully

Common use cases

Enterprise dashboards on live database data: Use the Database Query connector to pull real-time data from any ODBC source directly into a Squirrel365 app — no file exports, no manual refreshes, no spreadsheet maintenance.

High-performance apps with cached data: Use InfoBurst's XDC in-memory cache to pre-load and schedule enterprise datasets, then serve them to Squirrel365 apps at speed — even with millions of rows — using the XDC Cache or XDC Cache Query connector.

Interactive apps with writeback: Capture user input — scenario values, approvals, CRM updates — directly in a Squirrel365 app and write it back to the source database via the Database Writeback connector, closing the loop between data consumption and data entry.

The InfoBurst connectors require a Builder plan subscription. See the InfoBurst connections documentation to get started, or visit the InfoBurst website to learn more about the platform.
