Mapbox + Squirrel365

Embed interactive, data-driven maps in your Squirrel365 apps with Mapbox.

Squirrel365 includes a native Mapbox component, available on all plans, that lets you embed a fully interactive map directly into any app. Connect it to your Mapbox account using an API access token, bind your location data from the spreadsheet, and your map updates dynamically alongside the rest of your app. Whether your data is in latitude/longitude format or street addresses, Squirrel365 handles the plotting — including Mapbox's Geocoding API for address-based data.

What you can do

  • Embed an interactive, pannable, zoomable Mapbox map into any Squirrel365 app
  • Plot location data from your spreadsheet using latitude/longitude coordinates or full addresses
  • Display multiple data series on a single map, each with independently styled markers
  • Trigger data insertion when a user clicks a map marker — write selected values back into the spreadsheet
  • Bind marker colours to spreadsheet values for dynamic, data-driven styling
  • Use the map alongside charts, tables, and other components to build fully spatial data apps

How it works

  1. Create a Mapbox account and generate an access token with the STYLES:READ scope
  2. Add the Mapbox component to your Squirrel365 project canvas from the DataViz section
  3. Enter your Mapbox access token in the MAP SETTINGS section of the properties panel
  4. Bind your location data — lat/long columns or an address column — from the spreadsheet to the LOCATION DATA section
  5. Configure marker colours, series names, and optional click-to-insert behaviour
  6. Publish your app — the map renders live with your data

Common use cases

Field operations and logistics: Plot sites, assets, or delivery locations from a spreadsheet and let users click markers to pull record details into the rest of the app — no custom mapping code required.

Regional performance dashboards: Combine a Mapbox map with charts and KPI tiles to give business users a geographic view of performance data, filtered and driven from the same spreadsheet.

Location-based data collection: Let app users select a location from the map to trigger data insertion, feeding a chosen value into the spreadsheet for use in calculations or outputs elsewhere in the app.
