OpenAI + Squirrel365

Squirrel365 connects directly to OpenAI via the OpenAI API, putting the power of large language models at the heart of your apps. There are two native ways to bring AI into your projects: the AI Chat component, which adds a fully configurable conversational chatbot to your app UI, and the AI Builder function, which calls OpenAI behind the scenes and writes responses directly into your spreadsheet — making it available to drive logic, populate outputs, or feed other components. Both routes use your own OpenAI API key, keeping you in full control of costs and data.

What you can do

• Embed a ready-made AI chat interface into any Squirrel365 app with the AI Chat component
• Use the AI Builder function to send spreadsheet data to OpenAI and write AI-generated responses back into cells
• Choose from the full range of OpenAI models — including GPT-4.1, o3, o4-mini, and GPT-4.1 nano — to balance capability and cost

How it works

1. Generate an API key from your OpenAI account at platform.openai.com
2. Add the AI Chat component or AI Builder function to your Squirrel365 project
3. Enter your OpenAI API key in the component or function properties
4. Select your preferred model and configure temperature, token limits, and personality as needed
5. Bind the AI Builder response destination to a spreadsheet cell, or position the AI Chat component on your canvas
6. Publish your app — users can interact with AI directly within the Squirrel365 experience
