What a year! From meaningful product momentum to a growing, passionate community, the past 12 months have been some of the most exciting in Squirrel365’s journey so far. This post looks back at the highlights – The progress we made, the people who made it possible, and the customers who continue to inspire what we build next.
In 2025 we saw customers using Squirrel365 to solve real problems, from internal tools that saved hours each week to customer-facing apps that unlocked entirely new workflows. Watching how creatively teams apply the platform continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
2025 saw strong, consistent growth as more builders discovered Squirrel365 and turned ideas into working applications.
With hundreds of new builders joining Squirrel365, creating and publishing more applications than ever before. Seeing so many ideas move from concept to live app has been a clear signal that teams are looking for faster, more flexible ways to build software. Add the AI revolution into the mix and and that need will only increase.
Squirrel365 isn’t just a platform. It’s a community of curious, creative problem-solvers who learn from and support one another.
2025 saw our Squirrel365 community continue to grow in both size and generosity. From thoughtful feature feedback to shared templates and real-world use cases, the conversations happening around Squirrel365 have helped shape the platform in meaningful ways. We’re especially proud of how often customers step in to help one another. That’s when you know you’re building something special.
We shipped a lot in 2025. All guided by real customer needs and hands-on usage.
Seeing as our desktop designer was based on web technologies already porting it to the browser was a no brainer, this also gave us the opportunity to introduce cloud storage an Image library and autosave and versioning capability.
We also took the opportunity to update the start page experience and redesign the side bar making it easier to navigate key functionality in the designer. We made adding connections and functions make more sense and provided quick access to project settings and the marketplace. The new sidebar was created with an eye to the future and will become the home of exciting new features such as custom components when they are released.
We added new layout container types, designed to make building apps for mobile devices much easier and deliver a better end user experience. Layout containers allow you to create column and row based layouts.
The components themselves have new horizontal and vertical alignment options which include stretch to fill, left, centre, right, top, middle, bottom. A visual indicator lets you see how your object will be positioned/aligned relative to its parent container.
Testing the behviour of your apps (with their shiny new layout containers) got easier with device preview. With a few common break points added to preview mode you can now you can test the layout and alignment settings of your apps without publishing.
2025 was the year of AI. We took our first tentative steps into this space by putting the power of AI into the hands of Squirrel app designers connecting to their own OpenAI account so they stay on control of the costs.
We added a Chatbot component and an AI Builder function making it super easy for anyone to add AI powered functionality to their their Squirrel365 apps. Think of it as an all-in-one API you can use to perform an almost unlimited number of possible tasks.
From powerful new capabilities to the small refinements that make daily work smoother, 2025’s releases were all about helping teams build faster and with more confidence. Many of our most impactful updates started as conversations with customers — and that feedback loop continues to be one of our greatest strengths.
And let’s not forget that behind every release and support reply is a team that genuinely cares about what they’re building.
As proud as we are of the past year, we’re even more excited about the opportunities in 2026.
The momentum we’ve built together sets the stage for an even bigger year ahead. With ambitious product plans, a growing community, and customers pushing the platform in new directions every day, we can’t wait to keep building alongside you.
